Introducing Cooking School!
“Cooking School” is a comic strip that harkens back to the glory days of the Sunday newspaper. It’s a story of four Wassies and their desire to build something never-before-seen. They believe the current model is broken and that they have a solution. They soon discover that real change is a tough task and they may be in over their heads.
Let's meet the characters!
Bernard - Headmaster and Executive Chef
Born to a famous sushi chef, Bernard grew up in prep kitchens under the eye of his father at the family’s restaurant, before setting out at young adulthood to pursue his own culinary path. Following the death of his father, Bernard sells the restaurant to the well deserving staff, using a fractionalized ownership model (more on this later.) Feeling the need for a drastic shift in how restaurants operate, Bernard is determined to teach new crops of chefs better and more fair ways to own a business, and how to treat their employees with value and respect.
Bernard is joined in this new venture by:

his loyal friend and advisor “Rox”, who formerly attended the old culinary academy before being expelled for behavior issues. His path is one of conquering old habits and old traumas. His advice is always wise and sage, he just might not always follow his own wisdom. His ability to be everywhere at once, and the occasional display of super-Wassie-strength implies there might be more to Rox than first assumed.
“Alby” the kooky farmer—he keeps a meticulous ledger of all farm and garden activity. This plays a huge role in the finale and in Season 2.
“Sasha” the half-brother of Bernard is the most reliable source of support. Overly successful and always under appreciated, Sasha does his best to keep the school on track. A battle that grows more and more uphill every week.
It takes a village to run a culinary academy, and they will be supported by a team of chefs, a janitorial staff, a medical team, and some mysterious ghost-like genie Wassies that only the students ever see or notice…how strange??
Season One
The goal of the first season is to represent the first wave and cycle of the NFT industry. This time was marked by over-ambition, over-valuation, and the harsh reality that building real stuff is really hard. It was a time of optimism and belief, a time where people deeply believed new ideas and new systems could be built. They believed in ideas that support and enrich the lives of all who participate. Season One culminates in a crisis of budget and operating costs, leading the team to get creative with a kickstarter-esque campaign, hoping that the public will support what the team is trying to build at the school.
